CREDENTIALS APPEALS PROCESS.
An applicant or certification holder who feels their rights, as outlined in the IAAI’s published rules and regulations, have been denied may request an appeal. The appeal request shall be submitted in writing and shall be received by the IAAI no later than sixty (60) days after the date of denial notice.
The Certifications Committee shall respond to the appeal request within thirty (30) days of receipt, thus acknowledging the appeal. The Certifications Committee will then schedule an appeal hearing within ninety (90) days of receipt of the original request. The appeal shall be considered by the Certifications Committee as a whole.
The appeal hearing is a closed-door session, and all records of the appeal process are maintained in confidence by the with IAAI for at least ten (10) years following the appeal review date. The appeal hearing can be conducted virtually at the discretion of the chair of the Certifications Committee. The decision of the Certifications Committee is delivered to the appellant by email within ten (10) days following the hearing.
If an individual is dissatisfied with the Certifications Committee’s decision regarding any appeal, the appellant may appeal the decision to the IAAI Board of Directors.
